Company Overview

J. Fisher & Sons have been at the forefront of the road surfacing industry for over 35 years. Founder Jim Fisher started out as a mechanic and loading shovel driver for a well-known demolition company before setting up the company in 1971, specialising in the transport of road surfacing equipment to and from construction sites throughout the North West.

Today, J. Fisher & Sons is a well-established, family-run business. Jim now runs the company with the help of his three sons: Gary Fisher, Director, who is in charge of the day-to-day running of the business; Peter Fisher, Director, who looks after estimating and supervises road planing; and Colin Fisher, Director, who runs our ever-growing aggregate recycling business.

Over the years we have diversified into a variety of new markets, including road planing, plant hire, recycling and Hiab load handling solutions. So much so that we now operate our own fleet of road planers, tippers, roadsweepers and vibratory rollers. During that time we’ve also worked with a huge variety of clients, on all kinds of jobs, from supermarkets to safari parks.
